Help us with your skills and energy
As you may have read, we are not professional sailors, so we are willing to supplement our knowledge to fully enjoy the trip.
If you have skills that you would like to pass on in :
- Weather routing on land to complete our local analysis which may be facing difficulties to accessing information or analysis
- High seas safety training with life raft handling, damage response
- Emergency medical training focused on potential treatment
We are all ears!
Help us with a donation or loan of equipment
Here is a non-exhaustive list of the equipment we will need to reach our destination in the best possible conditions:
- Thales VesseLink 700 satellite terminal and GSM system for communication and work.
- Wind turbine to produce electricity on board without using the engine and thus avoid unnecessary pollution.
- 5kW forced-air heater to complement the diesel heater
- VHF: Essential for safety and to be able to communicate between ships and with the authorities, the one on board is defective.
- UV treatment of drinking water. The water will be produced on board from sea water and must be treated to avoid contamination.
- Protective cover for shelter during cold and wet sailing
- Offshore medicine box. In Svalbard we will be completely self-sufficient, so if we don’t have medical skills, at least have the right products.
- 2 survival suits in addition to the 6 already on board, we must live for the best and prepare for the worst!
- Ice equipment: ice axe, crampon, helmet, rope, harness, drill…
- Individual textile equipment adapted to the Great North.
If you have this equipment and do not need it during our trip, we would be delighted to take it on board and we will take the greatest care of it.
